Four Decades of Dominance:

Going into to production in 1976, the CG 125 by Honda has a long prestigious history of serving the commuter segment, spanning over the period of four decades. Though its production was discontinued in 2008, Atlas Honda Ltd. (a subsidiary of Honda Japan) is still manufacturing the two-wheeler to cater to the demand of the bike in the country.

The Pakistani version of the bike resembles most of the shape and performance of the original CG 125. Here it is pertinent to note that the design CG has changed little over the years. Nevertheless, the design has been a great success. Perhaps this could be the reason why the manufacturer did not modify its shape. Owing to this design success, the Korean and Taiwanese manufacturers launched several direct copies of the CG, including Warrior Dispatch, Champ Commuter, Hongdou CG125, Kymco Pulsar 125, and Sym Wolf Classic.

CG’s Standing:

Though not fetching as many sales as the CD 70 – the best seller Honda motorcycle in Pakistan – the CG’s appeal is as fresh as decades ago. It is still the name of power, economy and prestige. Like its sibling CD 70, the 125 model is believed to be a reliable and trustworthy travelling companion. At the same time, the comfort of travelling and fuel efficiency it offers are just wonderful. Fuel efficiency not only reduces the cost of travelling but also contributes to the safety of the environment by producing low and less harmful emissions.

While CG carries many attractions for the wealthy users, the low resale value distracts the buyers from lower economic stratum. They look for a bike that can be cashed at any time to fulfill their financial needs. The CD is considered as a “ready cash” but the same does not apply to CG. Perhaps, this is one of the factors why buyers prefer Yamaha and Suzuki bikes with the same power and performance specs over CG.

Specs and Specialties:

As the very title suggests, the motorcycle is powered by a 124 cc engine, equipped with the 4-stroke, OHV technology. Its efficient air-cooling mechanism prevents overheating of the machine especially on long journeys on hot summer days.

The seat is placed at the 771 mm, so an individual with normal height can easily handle and drive the bike. The ground clearance and wheel base measuring 140 mm and 1201 mm, respectively, combine with the 99 kg dry weight to make the drive unwavering, smooth, and stable.

Fitted over the fuel-efficient engine of the motorcycle, the fuel tank is large enough to accommodate up to 9.2 liters of oil. So, with single refill, you can cover the distance of nearly 500 kilometers.

Here are the noteworthy features of the CG:

Powerful Japanese Technology:

Going across the CG specs, the first thing that might attract your attention is the powerful Japanese technology of the engine. Powered by the OHV 125 cc machine, the two-wheeler adds energy to your ride.

Stylish Graphics:

The stylish graphics on the fuel tank and other prominent body parts make a significant contribution to the overall grace and aesthetic worth of the bike.

Newly Designed Speedometer:

The new, interactive design of the speedometer offers greater visibility. So, you can learn about your drive parameters and dynamics at a glance, without taking focus off the driving.

Firm & Durable Rear Wheels:

The firm and durable rear wheel has been engineered to ensure a completely safe and stable drive on a rough and wet surface. However, on a slippery surface, the rider will have to drive carefully.

What’s Commonplace?

While the CG fans might be expecting an auto start and 5-speed transmission system from the latest 2019 model, the manufacturer has no plans at the present to respond to their wishes. Both these specs are commonplace as found on the low end 70cc bikes.

You will have to rely on kick start to ignite the engine and the ordinary 4-speed gearbox. And for this compromise, the company offers incredible economy which the bikes from rival brands miserably fail to offer.
